Contests start at 6:30 AM with the first heat out at 7:00 AM (the first division out will be the Point Rated Juniors). It is important to check in at the contest site in the morning regardless of how you registered (i.e. Mail, Phone, Fax, Web, Carrier Pigeon, Candy Gram, etc.) to be sure you have a slot. A contestant is considered registered only when they have paid either by mail, Internet, or in person. Calling in (760-722-6363), or e-mailing (CSFJohn@gmail.com) by 11:00 AM the Thrusday before the event will avoid the $10 Late/Beach Entry Fee, but it does not guarantee a slot until entry form has been filled out and signed and all fees have been paid. If you do not show up after calling, or e-mailing, this convenience will no longer be available to you. Slots will be awarded to registered contestants on a first come basis.
Priority will be given to pre-registered contestants over those entering on the beach. You can transfer your entry to another contest date, or person, if you give at least 48-hour advance notice. If the surf is deemed contestable, no refunds will be given for a lack of quality waves, or changing conditions.
